The heat is on in Athens, Georgia …the perfect time to enjoy cold salads! I make different salads every week for my store,Phickles Phun Foodsand this one has been a real winner. It’s easy too …and is a tasty option for using up the beautiful summer heirloom tomatoes available at local farmers markets during the hot months. I’m fortunate to have a master gardener as a neighbor…so this beauty was given to me over our backyard fence!

I sliced one medium sized heirloom tomato into bite-sized wedges.

Next I rinsed and drained two cans of chickpeas and put them into my salad bowl.

In my blender… I added 2 cups fresh basil leaves, 4 cups fresh baby arugula, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 4 tablespoons white wine vinegar, 6 tablespoons olive oil & a dash of seasalt and black pepper.

Pulse these ingredients in the blender until puréed. Then…

Three Things Small Businesses Need to Do in The New Year

Small business gives big attention to detail!

The Knot Pro Blog

TKR_2015_PHMarketParty181To help kick-start 2016, we found three things you should consider incorporating into your business plan.

  1. Plan to attend educational experiences unique to small businesses or your unique business category.  Consider what areas you can improve upon for your business as well as for your professional self. Could you improve your marketing efforts? Maybe you have a social media presence, but have no idea how to grow it or turn it into a lead generator. Or your accounting and business tracking strategies could use some help. Whether it’s an association-based conference with education sessions like NACE or online education-filled blogs related to marketing and advertising like Sprinklr or The Knot Pro Feed (this blog!), take the time to seek out resources specific to your unique needs and invest the time in learning.
  2. Be data driven. Discover what your key performance indicators are and figure out how to track those indicators with data…

Welcome!

Yes, I love this song on the album as well. Thank you for helping me get why it resonated with me. Listen to the album and imagine this blind song writer spilling out her love for the Lord in thousands of different ways. It was plain to me God shone Himself brightly to Fanny Crosby.

Finding God’s Will

Trust and Obey. My best friend June and I do a duet when one of us starts to sing this.

Truth in Grace

The last few nights, I have not slept well. Last night, I was really tired but I expected it was going to be another long night. I was thinking of different things I could do to help me relax and rest my mind. I was thinking of turning on some music when I thought of Times Square Church. I used to listen to their messages when I couldn’t sleep but I’ve not done so in a while. I went to my website and saw the title of Pastor Carter Conlon’s message, “Finding the Will of God.” I knew then that it was definitely God who directed me, and I highly recommend this message to everyone who is willing to take 45 minutes to hear a message from the Lord.

Recently, I have been evaluating my life: laying hold on what I know is God’s will and praying for wisdom in…

Why Should Event Marketing Not Be Left Out Of Your Marketing Plan?

Events are just that, something someplace with someone that creates a memory.

VALERIA PASKALEVA'S BLOG

The digital age has brought such immense changes in the way we do marketing today that it’s a sheer “marketing seppuku” not to include digital marketing as one of the top priorities in your marketing plan. However, some marketers get so obsessed with it, that they tend to neglect one of the evergreen strategies in marketing- event marketing. They can’t be more wrong though. Event marketing is like the little black dress in fashion: it could never become inadequate or old-fashioned, no matter the new trends. And here is why?

  • The Opportunity To Create An Experience

Think of a sweet, unforgettable moment in your life. I’m sure it is a kind of real-world experience: a bungee jumping, a crazy road trip with friends, lying on a sandy beach with a cocktail in your hand (ok, I’ve wandered off a little bit daydreaming…). Event marketing plays exactly the same role for…

Verbal Pornography

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

Truth in Grace

We live in a dangerous age. Wrong is now right and fully acceptable in the eyes of a sick, sin-darkened world. What is even worse is that the church has often sought to fully endorse the Corinthian and Laodicean attitudes of this amoral society. America is no longer a post-modern society, but a society where morals are what you decide to make them.

For example, I know some who claim the name of Christ who believe that it is acceptable for homosexuals to sin all they want provided they do it behind closed doors and don’t bother anybody else. However, sin and depravity is never enough for those walking apart from God and out of the rebellion of their hearts. The sin that is acceptable today for them will never be enough until it is fully out in the open and others have been ensnared by their depravity.

To say…
